Experience integrated living in Palava – the well-connected city spread across 4500 acres
With increasing migration, skyrocketing real estate prices, demand for better living space and a pressing need for community living, every metro city needs a twin or sister city to thrive. Building a new micro-market not only provides a cushion for an ever-growing pressure on the infrastructure of the metro city but also makes life easy for the city dwellers.
Developing a micro-market needs more than planning and building facilities. Low property prices and the availability of green and open spaces are among the key factors that attract home buyers as well as new construction in Dombivli. However, what seals the deal on investment is the ongoing infrastructural development and connectivity that connects these markets/areas to the main city. One such market is the Kalyan – Dombivli region in Mumbai. The region has been witnessing swift and steady growth for the last few years. More so, smart cities like Palava, developed by Lodha, are redefining this micro-market with neighbourhoods providing world-class lifestyles and growing entertainment and commercial spaces.
Palava City is ready to move in as well as under construction projects to offer to the potential home seekers basis their requirements.
Spread across 4500 acres, Palava is strategically located between Kalyan, Thane and Navi Mumbai. The smart city is well-connected through rail and road network which currently makes it a favourite amongst the people looking to invest or stay in the KDMC region. Wide roads, shuttle buses and proximity to economic hubs are what draws people from different parts of Mumbai to Palava. And with the upcoming multi-transport infrastructure projects, it will soon be one of the best connected residential and commercial projects.
Roads
Recently, Lodha initiated the construction of Central Avenue, a new six-lane road accessible from Kalyan-Shil Road. This wide, junction-free thoroughfare aims to shorten the distance between all existing and forthcoming projects in Palava and Dombivli. Palava's smart city infrastructure also introduced a new entrance, providing direct connectivity to the Ambernath-Badlapur road via a spacious six-lane road, along with another entrance on the southern side for quicker access to Navi Mumbai through the Taloja bypass road. Additionally, the Dombivli-Mankoli bridge facilitates seamless connectivity between Dombivli and Mankoli, augmenting transportation infrastructure in the area. These recent advancements significantly reduce travel time for residents and enhance their daily commuting experience.
Travel Time
• Palava to Nilje Station: 10 min
• Palava to Dombivli station: 15 min
• Commercial Hubs of Airoli and Mahape: 30 min
• South Mumbai: 60 min
Work has already started on road widening and concretization of Kalyan-Shil road from 4 lanes to 6 lanes. As an extension of this project, a flyover will soon be constructed in front of the Xperia Mall for congestion-free access. Work on the Airoli-Katai Naka Freeway with elevated corridor and tunnel is also in full swing. With the opening of this tunnel and elevated corridor travel time to Airoli will be reduced by half an hour.
Another flyover at Shilphata junction (along the Shilphata Mhape road) and an underpass along the Mumbra to Panvel road, are planned that will ease the traffic congestion at the junction and provide free flow to the traffic towards Kalyan. Moreover, the proposed road widening of the Taloja Bypass road and concretization of the Ambernath-Badlapur road will further enhance the connectivity of the region to different parts of MMR.
Metro
Maharashtra Cabinet has already approved the 25-km long Kalyan Metro Route or Kalyan-Taloja Metro Route, one of the longest metro corridors with 17 stations including 3 stations within Palava. This metro line will further connect to Metro Line 5 [Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan] on one side and the Navi Mumbai Airport Metro Line on the other.
Rail
The region is also well connected by rail. Nilje, the railway station next to Palava has 16 trains that connect the region to Vasai (Western Line), Thane (Central Line) and Panvel (Harbour Line). With Diva station on the Central Line upgraded to the sub-urban section, the network will see more trains and increased connectivity soon.
Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) has approved the 5th and 6th railway lines between Thane and Diva, which will segregate the outstation and suburban train operations. This will increase the frequency of trains on the Diva – Panvel line, cut travelling time and enhance the region’s rail connectivity.
Palava is an example of a thriving smart city with quality residential avenues, commercial offices within walking distance, world-class technology and a city that is designed to provide an integrated unparalleled quality of life.
Shopping & Entertainment:
The region is home to Xperia Mall by Lodha at Palava City, one of the most prominent shopping malls in the history of Mumbai which has revolutionized shopping and family entertainment since its inception. It is one of the finest malls in Dombivli. The mall is a great equilibrium of international and homegrown brands.
Xperia Mall also houses one of the most popular food courts in town with over 35 delectable cuisines to choose from. For a quick bite or a leisurely meal, the Food Court at Xperia Mall caters to the palate of one and all.

Right from a very young age, Arin started participating in table tennis tournaments. After being part of the Thane district level table tennis tournament, Arin became popular in Palava. The 7-year-old table tennis prodigy, competed with advance players in the U-10 category at district rankings competition last year to prove his skills.
"Arin gained this self-confidence, focus and concentrated approach towards table tennis and studies from Rising Star program", says Arjeet Mukherjee, Arin's father. Arjeet, being a sports enthusiast himself, always wanted Arin to pick up some sport rather than switching TV channels. He made sure, Arin joins him on his morning running sessions in Palava. Looking at his interest in sports, Arjeet enrolled him into swimming, where Arin got coached under the expert guidance of Rupali Repale.
"It was during the 2018 Palava Summer Camp that we saw Arin's inclination towards table tennis. After the camp, we approached the PCMA team, who helped us enrol him with the table tennis coaching program", says Shilpi Mukherjee, Arin’s mother.
From here, there was no looking back. Arin participated in Palaso 2018 and basis his performance; he got selected for 'Palava Rising Star' program. During his summer vacations, Arin dedicatedly attended daily sessions of TT which used to start at 5:00 am. He is a very determined kid and never misses a single TT session. 'Palava Rising Star' is an excellent sporting program where kids get to learn, be part of various sports sessions within and outside Palava." says Shilpi Muherjee.
Today, Arin has developed a good sense of concentration and enthusiasm to learn more things. "At school Arin’s attentive nature is impressive", mentions his class teacher. His teachers insisted Arjeet and Shipli to continue with Arin’s TT sessions and provide help in studies whenever required.
The journey of Arin from nowhere to junior TT sensation was challenging. Arjeet quit his job from a multinational IT firm and started his own business to give more attention to Arin’s TT coaching, while Shilpi is still juggling around her office hours and managing Arin’s whereabouts. "With secure eco-system, close community and excellent sports and coaching facilities, Palava is producing national and international sportspersons", say proud parents of Arin.

I remember when Daksh was just seven months old, how moving objects had started fascinating him. And by the time he was almost two years old, he began recognizing different cars. I feel he always had a strong connection with movements – be it his remote-controlled cars or learning bicycle.
We moved to Palava in 2014 primarily for the ease of commute to my and my husband’s workplace. And in just a few months we were confident that Daksh would be able to manage his day well by himself inside the city. More than us, Daksh was happy moving-in to Palava as he got a big group of friends and could do cycling and skating with his friends in Casa Bella. This came as no surprise to us that he loved riding cycles and gliding skates. Owing to his keen interest, we enrolled him in ‘SSS Speed Academy’ in Palava. This was the best thing that happened to Daksh as he could now learn the proper posture, techniques of skating and improve his style right from the beginning. Palava has well-maintained roads, world-class sports infrastructure and a safe & secure environment, that gave Daksh an excellent opportunity to do what he loved.
Daksh picked up the skating skills very quickly at the academy, and his coach suggested him to participate in the next Palaso annual sports event of Palava. Daksh won Gold Medal for Palaso Skating 2019 Under-10 and has also won numerous other competitions:
And…
I am a teacher by profession, and I have to leave Daksh alone at home most of the time. However, I do not have to worry about my child’s safety while I am at work, mainly because of the levels of security in Palava, we feel we live in the safest place. We love Palava for the serene and beautiful views, not to forget the numerous amenities such as clubhouses and parks.
I also appreciate how Palava as a city, organizes multiple events across all age groups, which allows one and all to learn and develop continuously. Palaso has given a boost to Daksh to further his skating skills, and now he wants to compete with other skaters at National and International level.
“Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try. And Palava keeps us motivated, Palava keeps us going” – Ranju – Daksh’s mother

Sport – Tennis
We used to stay in Ulhasnagar, and I would practice Tennis in our society compound. My father is an avid Tennis player and always found time to share his tricks and techniques for playing Tennis. This is how I got introduced to the game and started playing Tennis at the age of seven years. My father always encouraged me to take up the sports even though I had Asthma and ensured that it never came in my way of playing any sports.
In 2015, my parents decided to move to Palava as it is one of the greenest and clean cities with fresh air. At Palava I found high-quality sports infrastructure from grand clubhouses, swimming pools to the Olympic Sports Complex with five tennis courts and other sports arena. I started practicing Tennis regularly and took up swimming as I believe it is one of the best forms of exercise. I and my younger sister Divyana, often go cycling within the city even late at night as it is one of the safest and secure places.
I participated in PALASO 2019 - the annual sports event of Palava, and won the Tennis Championship in the 'Under 16' category. Apart from Tennis, I also play Badminton and have won Badminton Championship at Kalyan Sports Tournament 2019. I also got selected among the top 100 Australian Open Hall of Fame 2019, held in Delhi (round 1). I firmly believe wheezing and coughing can no longer be a hindrance to me in becoming a professional Tennis player.
In my leisure time, I like drawing, reading books, so much that I have read more than 900 books so far. I do homeschooling and manage my time well. My doctor had suggested my parents stay in an unpolluted environment, and now I think I can live nowhere better than in Palava.
Shot at Palava
Palava is a thriving city and has always been an advocate for healthy, active lifestyle. Staying true to these principles, the city often hosts events and activities which create awareness and encourage citizens to stay fit. On 22nd September 2019, Palava became the venue for a historic, record-breaking moment as over 1000 women participated in Palava Plankathon and Pinkathon Run with Milind Soman. The event which began in the wee hours of the morning attracted women from all areas and from across different walks of life.
Post warm up, an enthusiastic group of women motivated by the words of ace runner, actor and fitness promoter Milind Soman, got into positions and executed the plank for 90 seconds, thus making it to the World Book of Records. This was followed by 3 km, 5 km and baby-wearing runs in which women of all ages participated, re-iterating spirits of comraderie and sisterhood.
Participants who came from other parts of Mumbai were amazed and shared their views on Palava, calling it a neat, clean and green city that they would love to come back to.
The compliments were many and along the lines of - “Even though it was quite sunny, thanks to all the trees and greenery in Palava, we actually enjoyed every moment outdoors. Never seen such a well-maintained and tidy city in India before. Palava is truly one-of-a-kind city”
